A Look at Some Famous Fighter Aircraft

We all know that the famous fighter plane of the United States was the Mustang, and most Americans consider this to be their very favorite aircraft. These particular fighters, like so many others, have been used in every single war since WWI. All branches of the armed forces have used them at one point or another. In fact, the United States Air Force has the only real working fighter plane left; the F-22.

One of the more นักชกชื่อดัง planes is the Black Widow, which is a very fast and maneuverable plane. The United States Army also uses these planes, with some units using the Black Widow as transports for troops and vehicles. These particular fighters were built primarily for dogfights and to attack ships and other targets from the air. Many famous pilot names came from these famous fighters.

Some of these were actually Spitfire aircraft. The American fighter planes of WWI and WWII were actually Spitfires. Not only are the Spitfire's the oldest aircraft around, they are also some of the most well-known, with a great reputation. They were originally designed to shoot down any German airplanes that entered the United States. Many pilots were killed when these planes would dive onto enemy ships and crash land.

One of these planes is the United States F-5. The United States had many difficulties in World War II, and needed many planes to help fight the Luftwaffe. The United States military built the F-5 for this purpose. These fighters could fly at high speeds and dive onto a ship or into a ground target, making them ideal for this role. They could get to high altitudes as well, and could dogfight with German aircraft. However, these particular fighter wings are known for being rather slow and difficult to handle.

In order to counter the German fighter planes, America turned to the North American F-8 and the British Vickers. Both of these planes were designed to withstand high speeds, high altitude, and extreme G forces. The US Air Force actually put twenty of these planes into production, and they were meant to replace the older F-15s. These Vickers could reach a speed of mach 3.5 and could easily defeat any G forces in the air. Vickers was even assigned the codename "ighthawk" after a famous US Army pilot called Col Harry Potter.

Even though North American F-8s are superior to the Vickers, there were still major difficulties with these aircraft. The first problems with these fighters came when the fuel supply was low. If they ran out of fuel in mid-flight, it could literally end the flight. When fuel was also low on the Spitfire fighter wing, it could easily come apart on impact and be damaged.

During World War I, a secret study by the Royal Air Force began developing new weapons to counter the threat from Germany and the Italians. This research began with the development of the Q-gun, which was a modification of the old Mark IV aircraft arm. With the aim to improve the defending strength of the Royal Air Force, this new weapon was designed to fire large bursts of powerful bullets at very high speeds, to quickly destroy enemy air defenses, and to pierce the thick bulletproof layers that were set up to protect the German soldiers' airfields and coastal areas from air attack. These new weapons, the Q-gun, would soon become the designation of the Corsair II.

After World War I, the United States was in desperate need of a new aerial refueling aircraft. This meant that smaller, faster aircraft could be used instead of the more ponderous and lumbering cockpits, which had to be operated by a full fledged pilot. Curtains of the new "flying wings" had to be lighter than the heavy fabric designs of the time, which meant that a smaller fighter could be equipped with internal systems such as fuel cells. The US military also needed a higher degree of maneuverability, so that it could move quickly over desert areas where the terrain was rough and the weather was unpredictable. These changes eventually paved the way for the F-5, and its many variations, which are still used in modern US Air Force tactical aircraft.
