The Famous Fighter Plane - The FW-LM " Brunswick"

One of the most นักชกชื่อดัง pilots of all time is downed Pilot. His aerial combat record is an important part of American and World History. The story of his aerial encounter with German U-boat was one of the turning points of the Second World War. This article covers his flight. It tells how he became a pilot, what happened over the English Channel, and ultimately ended his flying career.

In November of 1940, a Polish military pilot by the name of Pawel Rakowski (Rudzhanowski) piloted his personal fighter plane ( nicknamed "The Nightingale") from Warsaw to the French town of Le Havre. He was not very experienced in his profession, but he had knowledge of German planes. He made several passes over the German-occupied areas of Belgium and the Netherlands, but came back without any combat. This was a mistake because the Germans knew that the area was too wide for fighter planes to get through, and they began to send more advanced aircraft and weapons into the area.

After receiving several warnings about his poor flying abilities, The Nightingale pilot decided to outfit his plane with the most up-to-date equipment. He attached two 30 mm cannons to the rear gunsner position, and a radio navigation device. He also installed a wireless link that enabled him to communicate with the rest of his squadron. The Nightingale had a sophisticated fuel tank and could fly for nearly seven hours. He was ready to take on any German forces that were going into the area.

One night while flying out of Mildenhart, the Nightingale encountered B Bomber formation. Although he thought that he could handle the formation, he was soon knocked unconscious by flak. The Nightingale was able to eject and limp towards the safety of an uninjured airplane. Because of his extensive injuries, he wasn't expected to fly again until after the war. The accident seriously disrupted his career, and he never flew again.

Many World War II fighter pilots were not as lucky as The Nightingale, but they were not exactly "down" either. Two of the most famous pilots to parachute were bombardiers who parachuted from the e-3b. Most of the cockpit was damaged, forcing the bombardier to use his waist gun for ground control. Eventually, his waist gun broke, forcing him to abandon it and fight with the machine guns.

A few weeks later, bomber pilot George Hunter Douglas took off in his bomb run after being "limp'd" by a Ju-fly (a German biplane) which crashed near the Lincoln Airfield. Although no one was injured in this crash, the aircraft was wrecked and all its crew and passengers were killed. It is believed that this was the first aerial battle fought in Britain when a civilian aircraft came under attack from German aircraft.

One of the most important German WW II aircraft that did not end up in the hands of the Luftwaffe was the FW FWL " flown by Technician Liebig". He survived the initial engagement but was shot down after a lengthy dogfight over England. When he parachuted back to base, it was discovered that his plane had been equipped with an experimental "black box" camera which allowed him to return to action almost intact. His flight record ended up being classified as classified information and is still available to this day. It is said that his bravery helped to end the Luftwaffe's existence in 1940.

Another famous German aircraft is the Me-LM " Brunswick", a very tough and heavily armed biplane that ended up shooting down two American CF-fortress' in the Battle of Britain. It was downed by another B-fly called "ibble" that had been flying out of Whiteman's Essex. This attack was the beginning of the end for the German Air Force. It is thought that the Me-LM was heavily damaged by American aircraft and may have been no more than a loss of memory. Perhaps the last great German bomber to be downed by an American aircraft was the "yscraper" (also known as "hunter" or "scout" in the UK).
